HTC Vivid 4G: With the dawn of 4G LTE technology in mobile communications, AT&T was quick to take advantage of that technology by lighting up its LTE network that covers a lot of areas in US shores. The 4G LTE network of the carrier delivers faster web-browsing experience, quicker access and smoother media streaming to the delight of its legions of subscribers, as well as impressive 4G LTE devices such as the HTC Vivid 4G smartphone.
Not only that, the 4G LTE network of AT&T is capable of providing mobile broadband speeds that are said to be at least 10 times faster than conventional 3G while offering faster response times. That being said, the carrier is already in the process of expanding its 4G LTE network and is seeing a completion date of end of 2013 with most of the territories in US shores largely covered by then.

However, to take advantage of the unprecedented speeds offered by the 4G LTE network of AT&T, you have to have a 4G LTE-capable device and this is where the HTC Vivid 4G comes in. The handset is one of the first LTE smartphones offered by the carrier and since its release last year, a lot of satisfied users have attested to the LTE experience brought about by this beast of a smartphone. If you have been living under a rock and have no idea what the HTC Vivid 4G is all about, let us enlighten you then with the specs sheet of the handset which is up next.
The HTC Vivid 4G was officially announced by AT&T back in October of last year but it wasn’t until November that the smartphone finally made its appearance in the shelves of the wireless provider. The handset is a bit massive and is not advisable for people with dainty hands with its dimensions of 128.8 x 67.1 x 11.2 mm. It is also a bit hefty due to its massive size with its catch weight of 176.9 grams.
Internally, the HTC Vivid 4G comes with dual-core capabilities thanks to the QualComm APQ8060 SnapDragon chipset that powers its Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system which we hope to see get updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich later this year. The computing power of the handset comes from its 1.2 GHz Scorpion processor which in turn gets support from a full gigabyte of RAM. The handset’s onboard storage on the other hand is pegged at 16GB with an option to expand it via the handset’s microSD card slot should it get depleted.
As for its display, the HTC Vivid 4G sports a massive 4.5-inch SuperLCD panel with a qHD resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and 16M colors. The touch-sensitive controls of the handset sit below the massive display while the company’s custom Sense UI is overlaid onto the Gingerbread operating system of the handset. The HTC Vivid 4G also comes with an 8MP shooter in its back panel joined by a 1.3MP webcam out front to complete the camera department of the handset.
And if you happen to have AT&T for your wireless provider and want to take advantage of its 4G LTE network, the HTC Vivid 4G is your best bet to do that and you can have this beast of a smartphone for just $99.99 at select authorized AT&T retailers with a new two-year agreement with the carrier.
